Fossil Residence
Fossil, Oregon

Nestled into a knoll at the foot of a canyon on a remote ranch this residence is a retreat for a couple and their dog as well as a model of sustainable design.

Simple materials - standing seam metal, heavy timber framing, concrete block, infill glazing, and stone from the site - are used to create a structure that is both modern and references traditional structures in the region.

The design incorporates a wide variety of reclaimed, renewable, and recycled materials as well as solar water heating and power generation.
